What is the Economy for the Common Good?

"The essence of the model is to solve the contradiction between the values governing markets, such as selfishness, greed and irresponsibility, and the values which enable our human and environmental relations to flourish. Those latter values are universal and form part of our constitutions: dignity, solidarity, justice, democracy. The economic "values", in turn, are not constitutional values. The Economy of the Common Good (ECG) offers to solve this contradiction by changing the two principal legal rules which guide the behaviour of economic actors - desire for luxury and competition - for two others: contribution to the common good and cooperation"
